Barr lied under oath

By: TDF Editorial

William Barr this morning decided to fully torch his credibility in defense of Donald Trump, joining a long line of Republicans who have done the same to their own credibility. During the Attorney General’s appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Lindsey Graham asked him “Did you have a problem with the way Comey handled the Clinton email investigation?”

“Yes, I said so at the time,” Barr responded.

He said so at the time? Barr must have forgotten the op-ed he wrote for the Washington Post on Halloween 2016 titled  ”James Comey did the right thing”.

The era of Trump sure has caused so many Republicans to have selective amnesia. Vote them all out. Also, Barr needs to be held accountable for lying under oath this morning. Republicans, do the right thing and stop the “party over principle” thing that has poisoned you over the last few years.

Donald Trump Lies… and lies… and lies.

By: TDF Editorial

Donald Trump lies. He lies with a regularity that has never been seen before in politics. His followers eat it up and Republican politicians defend it. His lying is getting worse.

The Washington Post is reporting that Trump made 5,000 “false and misleading claims” in his first 601 days in office … and his next 5,000, bringing him to 10,000, in the next 226 days.

The entire Republican Party is complicit in his lies. For the sake of our democracy and our country as a whole, he needs to be voted out of office next year.

The black guy they don’t like said something they could take out of context

Did you hear about the Easter worshippers? Those victims of the Sri Lankan terror attacks that were killed and injured while WORSHIPPING on EASTER?

“Easter worshipper” is the new tan suit. “Easter worshipper” is the new bike helmet. “Easter worshipper” is the new selfie stick.

The “false rage” people on the right do whatever they can to take and spin something to bash Barack Obama about and freak out over. It’s so old and so sad.

Nobody with two eyes and a basic concept of reason would think that by “Easter worshipper” he meant “people that worship Easter” so let it go, right wingers because your false rage is showing.

Friendly Reminder

Trump is a foul-mouthed bully who tried to fire the people who were investigating him and pressured his staff to lie to protect him.

His tirades against the media are transparent posturing; he knows perfectly well that the reporting he derides as “fake news” is factual.

Vote. Him. Out.

Does Kellyanne Conway have no shame!?

By: TDF Editorial

To say that yesterday was “interesting” would be an understatement. From the awkward Barr press conference prior to the release of the redacted Mueller report, to the bizarre Kellyanne Conway comment to the press where she said she and the administration would welcome “apologies”, and everything in between, it was a day that will be remembered for many reasons. At any rate, it was not a day that proved “total exoneration” for the president.

But let’s focus on Kellyanne.

Kellyanne Conway’s “fishing” for apologies is almost maddeningly ridiculous. The complete shamelessness from her shows how little she cares about her fellow Americans. Seriously, Kellyanne, Mueller named you personally for boosting Russian fake propaganda and retweeting IRA-controlled Twitter accounts! Not sure where to find this tidbit of information in the report? Well, check out pages 33 and 34. You’re welcome. Now apologize to your fellow Americans for doing that.

William Barr: Defense Attorney to President Trump

By: TDF Editorial Team

During his presser this morning, William Barr proved once and for all that he is a defense attorney for Trump and not the Attorney General.

Barr spent his time at the podium defending Trump’s obstruction-related actions by claiming that Trump’s presidential duties were being hindered by the investigation and that he was frustrated by all the scrutiny he was under. He brought up “No Collusion” five or so times, making it very obvious that he was playing to the only audience he cares about.

Barr blew off all of the possibilities that Trump did anything wrong, even though Mueller did not explicitly leave the decision on obstruction up to the attorney general. Now we are left to draw our own conclusions. The biggest conclusion we are able to come up with so far is that Barr is not working for the American people. He is working for Trump and Trump alone.

President Trump is in typical form prior to the release of Mueller’s report

By: TDF Staff

Donald Trump was up bright and early this morning tweeting ahead of the release of Robert Mueller’s report. If you think he’s being Presidential and nuanced, you are mistaken and must not know how he conducts himself on social media.

As you may or may not know, Attorney General William Barr has a scheduled press conference at 9:30 A.M. Eastern Time and the report is expected to be delivered to Capitol Hill between 11 A.M. and Noon Eastern, with it being posted online sometime after that.

Robert Mueller is not our savior

By: The Daily Flash Editorial Team

As we all know, Robert Mueller released his final conclusion a few weeks back and recommended no more indictments for officials within Trump’s orbit, nor Trump himself. Perhaps we should ask if it was all worth it.

What will the release on Thursday of a partially redacted report bring? Perhaps nothing. It is hard to fathom that there will be anything in the report that will lead to any sort of “check” on the administration, and we can all but guarantee impeachment will not be something it leads to.

The fact is that everyone now has to come to terms with the fact that Trump didn’t win the 2016 election in a treasonous manner. His presidency is not an anomaly, but it is the fairly logical conclusion of social, political, and economic currents that stretch back decades.

The Mueller report should be released. It should be released without much redaction, but whether it shows criminality or malfeasance or nothing it all, we should be aware that its effect on our national political trajectory will be small — if it has any effect at all. We are at the whim of events far larger than the actions of one cartoonish chief executive. It is long past time that we realized this. Let’s do away with any thoughts or feelings that Mueller is our savior. We need to be the ones to save ourselves and 2020 is around the corner. Lets get it done.
