AOC calls out Rick Scott and it was amazing

By: TDF Staff

As is the standard with most right-wing members of Congress, there is an obsession with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that is almost at unhealthy levels. Today we learned what was already assumed, Senator Rick Scott of Florida, the Lex Luther of US Politicians, has got a case of the AOCs and the trolling finally caused him to get owned by her.

On Monday, Scott tried to come for Ocasio-Cortez and her Green New Deal again on Twitter. Scott was initially attacking New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker’s plan to combat the nation’s rampant gun violence with a national gun licensing program, which is a tad ironic because some of the most high-profile mass shootings in history occurred under Scott’s watch in Florida.

Scott then went on to slam Ocasio-Cortez, asking if she would “make us register every time we buy meat” if the Green New Deal passes.

While the snide “meat registration” comment is right in line with the things that get the right wing based revved up, AOC was quick to let him know she wasn’t having any of it:

Wannabe dictator hints at trying for a 2 year extension of current term

Donald Trump is getting scarier and scarier each day that goes by “post-Mueller” and it is reaching a boiling point. First, Trump was insisting that the results of the investigation showed total exoneration by Mueller, and not he is appearing to be absolutely terrified that Robert Mueller is going to appear before Congress to testify. Now, add to this madness the suggestion by Trump that he should get two extra years added to his term in office to make up for time that he was under investigation. This is textbook Trump and it is maddeningly scary. It is pretty much another example of his aspirations of becoming a dictator.

Who do we have to thank for the idea of two more years, you might ask? Well, it originated with Jerry Falwell Jr., who described it as “reparations,” but Trump took it up enthusiastically, retweeting Falwell and then himself tweeting about the “stolen two years of my (our) Presidency (Collusion Delusion) that we will never be able to get back…..”

While some of his supporters might take this as Trump being “playful” but we all know that he does not have a playful bone in his body. Whenever Donald Trump appears playful, it is in all reality him attempting to test the waters to see what he can get away with.

Trump testing out the “two more years” thing is sending a strong message to his base in terms of how they should respond if and when he loses in 2020. We cannot expect that he will become any bit friendlier to the idea of democracy from this point on and definitely not if he loses. Trump is showing who he is and he is not someone who cares about the rule of law or democracy. He needs to be voted out and we have to be prepared to deal with him in order to ensure a peaceful transfer of power when his replacement takes office.

Donald Trump Lies… and lies… and lies.

By: TDF Editorial

Donald Trump lies. He lies with a regularity that has never been seen before in politics. His followers eat it up and Republican politicians defend it. His lying is getting worse.

The Washington Post is reporting that Trump made 5,000 “false and misleading claims” in his first 601 days in office … and his next 5,000, bringing him to 10,000, in the next 226 days.

The entire Republican Party is complicit in his lies. For the sake of our democracy and our country as a whole, he needs to be voted out of office next year.

Did you hear about the Easter worshippers? Those victims of the Sri Lankan terror attacks that were killed and injured while WORSHIPPING on EASTER?

“Easter worshipper” is the new tan suit. “Easter worshipper” is the new bike helmet. “Easter worshipper” is the new selfie stick.

The “false rage” people on the right do whatever they can to take and spin something to bash Barack Obama about and freak out over. It’s so old and so sad.

Nobody with two eyes and a basic concept of reason would think that by “Easter worshipper” he meant “people that worship Easter” so let it go, right wingers because your false rage is showing.

The U.S, now ranked as “problematic” for journalists

The U.S in the age of Trump’s rhetoric now has a new ranking. Reporters Sans Frontières, or Reporters Without Borders, lowered the U.S. to No. 48 out of 180 on its annual World Press Freedom Index, three spots lower than its place last year.

RSF’s rankings were determined by a multi-language, 87-question survey for media professionals. The responses were then combined with data on abuses against journalists.

There have been 46 journalists attacked in the U.S. since 2017, ten of them this year alone. Trump’s rhetoric was called out in the report, which stated that Trump “exacerbates” the problems press freedom is experiencing with his ramblings about “fake news” among other things.
